Uconnect version 17.11.17 download
I just picked it up a few hours ago. Nothing done. No radio installed. The dealer tech is now saying that Chrysler has not "approved" the swap. I was under the impression the problem was going to be resolved. Instead I am told that nothing has been done to the car and that the car was simply there to get "information" off and "diagnose" the issue. Here is where I am at: - Star Case number was opened May 1st. Over three weeks after I first noted the issue. Dealer's fault. I'm not leaving the car for an indefinite period of time while they "figure it out".
That it has to be with the dealer Their software update screwed it up. This is what I have found This version is not available on the uConnect site for download. By definition, this was over the air downloaded to the car.
How can I be responsible for a radio when the software they force fed me is the problem. I can download it, but it will not install. In other words, I can't simply install the correct version over the supposed newer version.
Essentially, the It will not take it back to a factory original software level. This is very disturbing. In short, if FCA sends out a bad software version, we cannot undo it. There is something very wrong with that. Can't do it. I had an account for a Charger Hellcat and closed it down. When I asked to "assign" the Viper to me, they said we need to call from the car itself.
In other words, I can't get a call from the car's cell phone to uConnect. The irony is awesome. Here are the things that are wrong. So sorry for the rant Anybody had this issue? Anybody suggest a solution?
Last edited by Luisv; at AM. Luis V. I may have the same issue. I bought my 16 GT in Feb used. Since I got it miles it takes anywhere from immediate to 10 mins for the main screen to come on and give me the Accept promt. No lights work on the whole panel ac and such , but when I adjust the fan, it changes speed. I have checked all connections to no avail. I will be heading to the dealer in Sanford, which is supposed to be a good Viper tech. I have a couple issues to be addressed including this.
Gonna try to get her in the 21st and I will let u know how it goes. I am still under warranty, so ur solution may very well be what I need.
I will have to check which version I currently have. There have been complaints on the Ram truck forum as well. I have no issues, but some have. Please keep us posted. I just figured it was doing this since I haven't subscribed to the nav. Bet ur car was bought in san Antonio. Radio is now out I will fill you all in on what I finally resolve. Stay tuned I recently received an over the air update that shut the radio off a few times on its own while i was driving and was unresponsive until finally shutting off a 3rd time.
After that it was fine. There was an issue a few months ago with certain cars getting OTA Updates that bricked the radios. The cars were not suppose to get this update. This sounds like one of the cases. Originally Posted by cubeman. Originally Posted by texasram. Yesterday for the first time my screen was black for 30 seconds after starting the car. I'm running Having quite a few issues trying to update through the uconnect website. I used the files from sox site. Unzipped the file on computer, then transferred files to usb. I think I used the middle East files. There is an incompatability issue with the early pre-Aug builds and the unit that they installed into those vehicles.
Our April build is also affected. Our dealership has placed a tech support call and I'll call them tomorrow for an update. Has this been confirmed??? I have a MY Laredo built in May and when putting my vin into the official Uconnectg website it is only giving me V16 of the software, so my assumption is that V17 is not yet available.
This is further confirmed by the version's available in the OP's link. My Laredos a Jan 14 build and I recently tried and it wouldn't accept my VIN:rolleyes: Did you try inputting the letters of the vin in lower case? Worked for me.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Gdavo the updates would only be of any real value if they included map updates which they don't. So i put my vin in a couple of times and it finally came up that it was up to date lower case seemed to work in the end put I do not have any drag and drop option. Just picked it up 2nd hand a few weeks ago, but i doubt it has been updated.
Did you try inputting the letters of the vin in lower case? Good question I thought it was already too bright on the old version and now it's even worst. Has anyone downgraded to an older version due to this? Nah, it doesn't bother me that much. Seems to be fine during the day, with no headlights on. Upgraded our My15 Overland using the software from Sox. Worked a treat 2nd time, downloaded the wrong version first time.
Reverse camera is brighter but not annoyingly bright. We only bought it a few weeks ago, dealer said it was up to date, had version Just got a GC Overland a couple weeks back and see that it's got software version How do I find out whether my UConnect is 8. I saw something that suggests looking for something on the front window that would state this though I came up short. Any help would be great in these areas please.
Today I received a reply stating that dealers will start receiving the map updates within the next 2 weeks, about time. Will be interesting to see if it actually eventuates and how much the cost will be. I'm booked in for a map update, will update how it goes. Did they say how much they were going to charge? Just booked mine in for map updates. First updates since A bit ridiculous in this day and age. Cheers, Craig. Thanks for that, I received another email saying that FCA don't set the price for the map upgrade its up to the dealer what they charge, suppose it depends how greedy each dealer is.
Could you let us know how old the version is when you get it done? No worries Rumbo, Will post the version number once it is installed. I just got an email in the post saying that I was entitled to a 'free' upgrade for my car 'in recognition of your patience in waiting for this updated software'.
What a crock. I purchase a car with 2 year old maps.. I then 'discussed' the 'broken' feature they introduce can't change state for over 14 months, eventually involving Consumer Affairs who did nothing, and told me to go to a lawyer.
Only when I expose them for directly lying to me and writing up what happened on forums they agreed to swap out the unit and give me the 'new update' version that gets the 'state' change issue to work. Now 'free' map upgrades for a car that has a map that is still under warranty. Had the map updates done this morning Haven't used it as yet but will be Friday. On the way back, I set home on the GPS for the shortest distance I normally have it set for quickest time.
It took us down so many back roads and dirt roads. Keep in mind that I also have it set for no unpaved roads. It seemed to take forever to get home and divert off main roads. Or is Cheers, Craig I downloaded 'here we go' onto a tablet, when we visited Queensland, I aked for the shortest route from Brisbane to Gladstone. Yep, off the main road down bush tracks, in a rented Hyundia sedan.
That was the last time I put in shortest route, it takes it figuratively.
