One thing I love about unity, is extending the editor, and there is not much of making of about these side of development. Joined: Dec 21, Posts: Downloading the game just now. I'm the programmer that did all the tools. I don't think it was shown in the video, but we created a wizard to generate light probes. We use static batching and the game runs great.
Culling wasn't as good, poly and vert counts went up and again, it was a complexity we were more than happy to avoid. Edit: oh.. You'll be happy you did, especially if you're going to make any custom tools.

While 2d toolkit is great - the auto atlas updating and building is really good, and the code is efficient - unless you're wanting to write all your own GUI controls lists, buttons, etc and don't mind digging into all the 2d toolkit code, you might be better off using NGUI. If you're making a 2d game, I don't think you can go wrong with 2d toolkit It was built with that in mind. Disclaimer: I haven't looked at the latest iterations of 2d toolkit, they very well could have added more GUI elements to the toolkit.
